This golden, fizzy headed ale has a very quick nose with just a light touch of fruit and hops. The body is just as quick with no depth, dry and bitter. Too bad. morrdt (609), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2006 Bottle. Pours a slightly dark amber with a small head. Malty aroma is prevelent. Hops takes over with the first sip, but it is a pretty smooth drinker with a bitter bite for the aftertaste. Not too bad, could be better. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2006 Bottle, coated with dust on the back of the shelf. Slightly hazy dark amber/copper. Head faded quickly for the style. Aroma of caramel malt mostly. Hops are kind of timid on the nose, but are more punchy in the flavor. A bit of a yeastiness present as well, especially on the finish. Palate medium and fairly smooth. Slightly bitter hop aftertaste. So-so IPA. Delirium (502), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2006 Updated: Jun 18, 2008Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a moderate white head. Aroma is malty with a bit of English-style and grapefruit hops. Flavor starts out similar, plus some orange and toffee flavors in the background, and ends with rather more grapefruit and wood. Not bad, though not among the top west-coast IPAs. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2006 Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a thick white sticky head. Floral aroma is in the forefront with ahint of honeysuckle. Defintely more of an English Style than American, this beer starts with a slightly sweet mellow malt profile and finishes with a earthy back-of-tongue bitter hop whallop. Very long sharply bitter finish that stands out from the otherwise mellow brew. Suprisingly bitter with little aroma hop character. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2006 Not really my kind of IPA; more of an English-style. Pours light copper with a medium head. Aroma of weak hops, flowers, and (surpisingly) peaches. Taste is astringent-bitter with a metallic bite. The back is sweet, like a lot of other Mendoncino ales. Watery mouthfeel. Dry finish. Blandly enjoyable. holdenn (1446), Chicago, Illinois, USA
