Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Chill hazed light amber, creamy off white head. Soft piney nose with a hints of earth and floral sweetness. Bitter flavors up front without being brash. Mostly pine with light earthy and grassy notes throughout. Scales are way tipped towards the hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, bitter finish. This was a fresh bottle, so I’m thinking it’s the only to try this one. Not nearly as bad as the overall score would indicate....

I wasn’t too impressed with this IPA. It was a little too hoppy for my taste.

Bottled. Pours a clear light amber with a lacy white head. Aroma has a bit of grapefruit, flowers, and (strangely enough) vanilla. The body tends to light side, slightly watery, with medium carbonation. The taste starts sweet with some oranges and toffee, then the lingering bitter finish kicks in. A good summer beer.

Most definitely an English IPA. Very light hops and not much else in the aroma. Pretty bland flavor with a light ot medium body. A moderately astringent taste. Nothing really stands out about this. There are so many better English IPAs out there. I’m finding it harder to enjoy English IPAs, unless they’re on cask or bottle conditioned.

Hazy amber color with white head. Need to let this one warm-up a liitle, to get the full hop flavor.

Deep amber color with foamy white head. Floral hoppy aroma. Gotta let this one warm up a bit to experience the full hop flavor. Nice bitterness.

Not as much hops as many IPA’s. Lacked the bitterness of some of the harsh IPA’s. Very drinkable. Gold in color. Sudsy medium white head. A piney aroma with some sweetness. A good IPA. Suprised by it’s fairly low 3.25 rating.

Bit above average for an IPA. Well hopped, with ample bitterness and zesty citrus.
