Aroma is mostly grapefruit and hops. Flavor is medium pine and hops with a fairly decent malt backbone. Slightly thin on the palate, but complex enough to merit a better than average rating. A middle of the road IPA. Naven (879), Poway, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2006 I really enjoy this beer. I have fond memories of traveling down the russian river with Ice Cold White Hawk’s in my cooler trailing along my inner tube. But, beyond those memories, this is actually a quality brew....while it may not be spot on balanced (as some have mentioned) it’s a good example of a sound IPA. linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA

Nice strong hoppy flavors are balanced perfectly by malt in the middle, and then finishes back to the hop bitterness. The malt gives this beer a great medium to full bodied mouthfeel. I’ve had better, but this makes for a great session beer. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2006 Deep orange color with a fluffy, soapy head. Crisp refreshing pine and citrus flavor. Slightly tart with a balanced light sweetness. Pretty good overall. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2006 From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with a blurb on the neck label, no bottled/freshness date.
Made a good appearance, poured a hazy tarnished copper with a foamy beige head that settled into a thin lacing, a fair amount of sticking, good carbonation.
Had a nose of pine oily and lemony flavored hops with a sweet maltiness way in the background.
A crisp, dryish and smooth medium bodied mouthfeel, average AIPA drinkability.
Bit of a off-balanced taste, hoppy upfront, piney, spicy and lemony, a sharp bitterness that fades, does numb the taste buds, a fusel-like alcohol that provides a warm feeling in the palate, a soft toasted graininess and a dry lemony hop finish. What I find off-balanced is that the alcohol is out in front of the malts, doesn’t compliment.
Not a terrible AIPA, just an average one, if on sale or in the singles section, this might be worth picking up to try, but not something I would want on a regular basis.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 22, 2006 A hazy orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of both hops and flowers. The flavor is sweet and very dry with light notes of pine, leading to a bitter end. A boring IPA.
