Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Aroma had some hops, leant towards malt too much though. I want more hops! Taste was malty, flowery, sweet finish. Good but not very hoppy. Looks gold, not much head, medium body. I like it as a beer, but a little bland, could use more hops.

A pretty good IPA. It’s heavily hopped, but not too much so its unenjoyable. Not my favorite of the Mendocinos, but I enjoy this beer on draft down at the brewery when Im in the mood.

Thin Lingering head with a slightly cloudy gold color body. Hhoppy aroma and flavor, good amount of bite. The taste is what you would expect from an IPA.

Had this one bottled in Lombard, Illinois. Mine said "Brewed and Bottled by Mendocino --- Saratoga Springs, NY". Nice hoppy character, not overwhelming though. Good beginners IPA.

Basically nice and punchy IPA. Made me sit up and notice it, even through the pizza I ate while sampling it. Big and bold, nice aroma, nothing too spellbinding, just a standard IPA. I bet it would be especially tasty mellowed out on tap.

A decent IPA. Just a little bit of sweetness in the beginning. Has a long bitter finish. I found the hop flavor a bit harsh, not really bad, but just a bit of abrasiveness right in the middle of the palate before the bittering hops came in to clean up. Slightly higher alcohol blends in well.

I know smooth and mellow are beer cliches, but this beer really has those qualities, not an in your face IPA, but an IPA in candy coating. Good stuff.

Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of hops/caramel/citrus. Strong hop flavors with malts and a nice finish.
