Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Draft at HDG. Deep orange in color with a nice white head. Citrusy malty aroma. Grapefruit and orange notes. Malty citrusy flavor. Piney hops. Caramel notes. Crisp. Medium bodied. Ok beer.

Draft @ HDG. Orange color with a small head. Flavors of oranges, caramel and graprfruit. Against other IPA’s, this isn’t that great but on it’s own it’s worth a pint.

Pours a translucent golden orange amber with a small off white bubbly head. Aroma of caramel malts, light floral and pine hop presense...but light. Flavor you can pick up more of the hops, slightly bitter and piney. I think this one may have sat around for a bit too long at the Six Pack shop...picking up some cardboard in the aroma and flavor. Not overbearing and the flavor was actually decent. But with the weak aroma I was picking up it may have been from some light getting to it.

Pours clear copper with a white frothy head. Aroma is very hoppy - mainly floral. Medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Taste is very hoppy - a mix of floral and piney hop flavors. There is also some malt in there for a litlle balance, but it is a very dry taste. Finish has a very dry hoppiness to it. A nice beer.

Golden, hazy/cloudy color. Pretty dull in aroma with "false" floral, and citrus aromas, also piney. Taste is piney, floral, citrus zest, and heavy on the hops (which I love). Malts and hops are not shy by any means. Overall, its pretty good, just not great.

Pours a clear orange golden color with a frosty white medium sized thick head. Aroma is of faint citrus and pine along with fresh hops. Flavor has a slight piney and citrusy taste but it is rather weak. Lots of hops present. Nothing special here. A middle of the pack IPA.

12oz bottle. Clear golden amber. Spotty white head. Bitter piney nose. Citrus and orange aroma. Dry long and bitter. Zesty and light. Mellow with hints of melons.
