Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Slightly citrusy aroma. Flavor has a nice beginning floral, citrus flavor though is quickly overcome by european vegetabliness and then overstrong bitterness that really holds the beer back.

12 oz bottle. Golden orange colour. Thin head. Sweet aroma, caramel and medium crystal malt with some fruity/woody aromas. A bit of orange and light pepper. Flavour is quite woody. Light spice but mostly leafy UK (Fuggles) types of hops. Fairly well-balanced and pretty tasty. Slightly prickly mouthfeel. Lingering herbal/leafy hop flavour. Decent, but not great.

Pours a murky copper in color with a thin white head. The aroma actually hit me in the face as I was pouring at arm’s length, pungent hops over a rich, malty base. The flavor is extremely well-balanced for an IPA, the hops clean and crisp at the beginning with a fresh, malty smoothness in the body. Ends with a lightly bitter finish. Very nice. More drinkable than most IPAs.

Yellow to golden orange on the pour. Starts crisp and hoppy, finishes exceptionally long. Fantastic beer. Would recommend with poultry. I’ll come back for this one again.

Clear amber with a nice hoppy aroma. Good flavour, some malt complexity, grapefruit hoppyness. Finishes a bit dry.

Murky, amber body with quickly fading off-white head. The aroma is pine, citrus and caramel in farily even proportions. Flavor begins with a big hop bomb of pine and grapefruit, closely followed by a fair amount of caramel, biscuit and toffee. Mouthfeel is slightly chewy with a bitter finish. Nice IPA, I am a bit puzzled by the low ratings.

Bottled. Pours a clear, light orange color with a small ivory head and good lacing. Malty aroma with a hint on lemony hops. Nutty and malty with some orange and fower notes from the hops. Slight bitterness towards the finish. Pretty nice.
