Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Deep amber colour. Mellow aroma. Smooth taste with a delayed bitterness. Just okay.

Goldenrod color with a slimy, fizzy whitish head. Aroma is muted citrus hops and pale and caramel malts. Flavor is watery and weak in the hops department. Boring malty flavor with just a touch of citrus/pine. Low bitterness. Fizzy thinnish mouthfeel.

Mild hop aroma, pours a clear amber with a dusting of white head. Clean citrus hop flavor, with a mild bitter finish, full mouthfeel. Decent enough, for the price, it’s tasty, and well worth picking up once in a while.

Smells like hops, tastes like hops. Sure, there are varying degrees of quality in regard to IPAs, but this is pretty generic, and fairly good, though quite lingeringly bitter, like almonds. Forgive me if my rating sounds like Gabriel Marcia Marquez meets Ernest Hemingway. I don’t recall any of Medocino’s brews being really excellent.

pours a clear amber with a small offhite head. notes of caramel, citrusy hops. I prefer an IPA with a little more bite.

I drink a lot of White Hawk. I tend to prefer beers with a little more bite, but White Hawk is a very good IPA. It is also $8 for a 6 pack locally, which is the strongest value around.
