Malts are nice - but there’s a coppery-tasting flavor - very metallic - that ruins the malt profile in this one. Aroma is that of an ESB, musty and malty. Flavor is slightly bitter, no florals and not much flavor beyond the metallic and bitter notes. bkurtz (276), Peru

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2009 12 oz bottle purchased from McScrooge’s in Knoxville. Poured a clear gold/orange color with a one finger white head. The aroma was very floral. The flavor was a little more malty than I expected with citrus hints and a very bitter finish that lasted for quite some time. The body of the beer was medium, and the carbonation was good. Very puckering and offensive palate. mrhoppy (213), Santa Clara, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Hazy golden with light foamy head and thin lace. Floral tart nose. Mostly bitter palate English style. Balanced quality. At first taste I did not care for it but as I drank it I appreciated it more.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2009 A very nice IPA. A great balance of hops with a hint of bitterness and citrus but not overly sour. Pours golden brown with a nice head. joebudzjoe (228), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Bottle from Trader Joes in Brookline, MA. Very simple and solid IPA. Good dry hops with citrus hints. Despite the 7% ABV, this IPA isn’t harsh and goes down smoothly. afireinside96 (837), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 29, 2008 12oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Hazy gold color, pours with zero head. Smells of pears and apples. Light bitterness is met with notes caramel, apple, and pineapple. Very mild flavors. Not bad or offensive but certainly doesn’t stand out from the pack. Slightly ironic that a brewery from Hopland, California brews one of the tamest IPAs that I have ever had. Rciesla (3686), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
