Commercial Description:
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800's to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

A hazy orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of both hops and flowers. The flavor is sweet and very dry with light notes of pine, leading to a bitter end. A boring IPA.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) The labels credits this to Mendocino Brewing in Saratoga Springs, NY. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head leaving laces. Fresh and fruity aroma - grapefruit. Medium body, lightly sweet malt base is overpowered by a distinct, bitter finish. A rather brutal and one-dimensional bitterness without much refinement. 200606

Bottled. Pale amber, rich head. Rich grapefruity hop aroma. Sweet and full bodied with clean, straightforward malt character and an abundance of hops that dominates every aspect of this beer. The bitterness is so big it turns almost inky. Flavourful, but bold and not overly complex example of the style.

Hazy amber. Fresh orangey, woodsy aroma. Rich, sustained bitterness. Lemony, grapefruity middle. Dry and richly hoppy finish. Solid.

Deep blond color, nice perlage, creamy head, thick lace. Light hop and malt aroma. Very good body, good malt and toffee flavor, somehow sweet, with a good quality hopping.

Lightly hazed light orange body with medium creamy beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, light citric, . Taste is more pronounced citric (gfruit), medium sweet, but also some biscuit. Finish is floral/grapefruit, mildly bitter. Medium body. Pleasant IPA -- not a hop monster, sort of a cross between an American and English IPA.

The white hawk was on my wish list, so thank you Tom/After4ever for this one. It’s warm-golden with a huge, white and creamy head. The aroma is nicely hopped with notes of grass, resin and fruit. The flavour is slightly sweet and has a nice caramel foundation, notes of fruit, a lot of citrus, a bit of resin, a nice bitterness and it’s nicely balanced. It’s a tasty brew, that needs "the little extra" to become more than just that. 2022
