NICE MUSTY ALE NOSE TO IT AND A GORGEOUS TAN BOUQUET MAKES THIS A RATHER ATTRACTIVE BEER TO STARE AT. FLAVOR IS THE REAL PRIZE. WHITE HAWK IS PROBABLY (AND I HAVEN’T CHECKED MY RATING LIST YET BUT) THE BEST IPA I’VE TASTED THUS FAR. REALLY NICE AND HOPPY, BITTER IF YOU WILL. A PERFECT SUMMER BEER AND DEFINITLY WORTH THE PRICE. OVERALL YOU CAN’T LOSE IF YOU’RE A HOPHEAD. Braudog (3762), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Blasting hop-floral nose. Spicy hopped flavors with nice orange-like tartness. Excellent! obguthr (1030), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

Hazy amber color, no head, with steady streams of carbonation. Excellent mouthfeel, smoky initial taste. Tangy orange and orange peel at midpalate gradually gives way to a tasteful lemon grass. Wonderful transitions and very easy to enjoy. rmussman (905), California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Probably my favorite brew from Mendocino. Pours nice with a frothy head and golden hue. Drinks very smooth with an excellent flavor that lingers nicely. An excellent beer. mwsf (360), San Francisco, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2002 Copper color. Slightly hazy. Medium head. Aroma of yeast (bananas), alcohol, slight malt, and hops. Bitter. Malty flavor. Yeasty! Medium body. This beer really reminds me of a Belgian from the yeast. I’ve heard they’ve suffered some infections lately and this might be from a funky batch, but I like it. Good combination of Belgian-style yeastiness with banana esters plus malt and hop bitterness. Damn fine! Maxamillion (103), Glendora, California, USA

Semi floral taste with pretty decent amount of hoppiness. Nice bitterness kick to it although maybe a little overdone. Overall its a pretty good Ipa but could be a little better balanced. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 6, 2004 Just finished another of these good brews. Good citric hop aroma as soon as I opened the bottle. Pours an off-orange body with a hefty fizzed up white head. Good ’n’ bitter as a proper IPA should be. Strong citric rind aftertaste. Sour finish. Good stuff. bpsmyth (2), Ohio, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2006 Yellow to golden orange on the pour. Starts crisp and hoppy, finishes exceptionally long. Fantastic beer. Would recommend with poultry. I’ll come back for this one again.
