unclemike (328), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jun 24, 2008 Aroma is mostly mild sour earth and pine hop and some malt. Smells like it will be dry. Pours medium hazy orange. Flavor is some fruity malt. Like pineapple and mango followed by some caramel sweetness. It finishes more crisp than bitter and leaves more residual sweetness than dry resins. More of an English Style IPA than West Coast Style. It is not bad, but I prefer these beers to be hop strong.
lithy (118), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 18, 2008 Dark golden color, small dissipating white head leaves just a cover. Light aromas, a little malty and slight hoppiness. Taste is bland and not too hoppy for an IPA. Good but uninteresting. Sparky27 (498), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 16, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with one finger beige head and decent lacing. Nose is pine and citrus. Taste is sweet citrus hops upfront that fades into a weird metallic bitter finish. Medium mouth feel. Starts off great but that metal taste killed it for me. buzzoven (93), Japan Aug 15, 2008 Updated: Aug 20, 2008Malted hop aroma, faint grassy smell. Flavour comes out weak...like hitting a brick wall and just sliding down. Mouthfeel is a bit slick and medium bodied. Some fine bitter notes in the aftertaste; but comes across more like a watery Pale Ale than a proper IPA. File under "meh..." NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 14, 2008 This is a respectable beer, but it just doesn’t have enough hops to satisfy - something that is rarely said about west coast IPA’s. Very drinkable though. NJJereme (116), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Aug 7, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber color with a light white head. Aroma of hallmark IPA scents, e.g. citrus and floral, though in this case, not overwhelmingly so. This IPA has a more airy character and seemed a little lighter bodied than other IPAs on the market. Balance b/w hops and malts was fairly balanced with just enough hoppy flavor to taste more like an IPA. I think it is fairly underrated and a pretty tasty brew.
