Bottle from Scott (initially got one from Sean, but hadnt got around to drinking it, so thanks both of you guys!). Pours out a dark brown almost black color with a tan head. Smell is mostly roasted malts, and some hints of caramel and sugars. Taste is smooth and sweet, some bitterness still lingering. A little coffee, a little chocolate, not too shabby. I hear that some of this is still around, so you should get some if you get the chance, its pretty good stuff, and its still good.

Bottle. Aroma was chocolate malts a touch of caramel. Poured a deep dark brown. Flavor was nice and filling chocolate malts with just enough cascades to add just the right bite. Palate was full and thick. Overall this was very enjoyable, makes me kick myself for walking past this several times.

Pours a loverly dark brown into the glass. Just a whisp of tan head. Nose of black coffee, cocoa, roasted malt. Creamy mouthfeel. Tastes of dark chocolate & coffee. Some nutty notes and subtle spices. Only a ghost of alcohol present in the taste. Very tasty!!

From bottle thanks to Immy. Black pour with coffee head and bubbly lacing. Nose is roasted chocolate and nutty. Flavor is baking chocolate, bitter with a smooth palate. Only the tiniest bit thin with just barely perceptible spices throughout.

Dark black color with a rusty brown head. Rich aroma of roasted malt, coffee, molasses, and bittersweet chocolate. That’s just in the aroma!! Tastes like dutch cocoa and a coffee bean finish. very warm...

12 oz bottle. Black with a ring of a tan head. Nose is really strong - bitter chocolate, molasses, earthy, a bit vinous. Body is mildly creamy, but a touch thin. Flavors of chocolate truffles, nutty malt, a touch of sweet spiciness. Finish is bitter cocoa, slightly spicy. Really good!

A nice winter beer, can’t drink too many, they are very full/thick/heavy. It is a very smooth stout, with mollasses and chocolate malts/flavor. I like this beer, but usually only drink one before I need to move on to something else. Overall, one of mendocino’s better beers, great to mix for a black and tan.

A porter with a thiness, however drinkable. A bit of spice, had exactly a year after. Smooth and dry. Mollasses aroma.
