Good full mouthfeel, creamy, a bit in back of throat from hop acid, lots of malt. Alcohol seemed stronger. Citrus in aroma and taste. Drying aftertaste. Color is a bright amber with light carbonation and a tight little head. Taste is rich, hoppy and bitter. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a creamy sweet, rich feel. Finish comes on rich with a little citrus and some malt, this is followed by a good bitterness. After taste is more bitterness and some lingering citrus. This is a good Imp. IPA and definitely one of the best brews I have had from these guys. Its packed with flavor yet its not gagy strong like some Imp IPA’s I’ve had. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2008 This tastey brew pours an amber-orange colour with a medium sized white head. The head slowly dissipates to a whipped cream like top Aroma is of pine, grapefruit and dank earth. Mouthfeel is wonderfully carbonated, silky, hop infused and purely delicious. Taste is of citrus fruit and lots of hops. This review only reinforces my super hoped beer bias, but i dont care- it was a mighty fine bier. hoppopotamus (187), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2008 A clear amber beer with a small off-white head that doesn’t last. The aroma is interesting, hop dominated in a dark fruit kind of way, but some malt is present. The flavor is also fruity hops (grape, lychee, citrus) with a bit of caramel malt, a hint of burnt notes. Bitter in the finish. A nice refreshing brew, but altogether missing a huge does of hops in aroma, flavor, and bitterness to get high marks as a DIPA. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Translucent butterscotch with a puffy tan head, frothy on top. Caramelized grapefruit, ginger root and tangerine chews sing sweetly unto the nose while a strawberry orange cotton blossom stirs in the distance. Authoritative tangerines, buttered rum and clementines come out sweetly and strongly on the tongue, dancing bitterly but decidedly balanced. Orange spruce and honey suckle tangerines meet in the middle to produce an orangey, tropical motif. The mouthfeel plays patsy to the gentle carbonation while the sweet hop bouquet careens at the seams. Orange candied custard crème entrances the finish, erring on the sweeter side of the imperial equation. Papsoe (15109), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Fat aroma of citrus and peach. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with a fat caramel base and a hoppy and peachy finish. 270408 Butters (1653), Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 17, 2008 Great hop profile in aroma and flavor. Nice smooth bitter finish. My wife loves this one too. I think the pretty purple lable factors in somehow... mcox90 (654), Wilton, USA
