Sweet caramel and citrus in the aroma, also a little bit of dark fruit and pine. Pine and citrus greet the tongue, quickly leading into sweet malty flavors. This one has a nice malt depth to it that treats it well. This one is really drinkable. I’d be happy to drink this one again. Good beer. Thanks to the generous Degarth for this beer. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Pours clear gold with a big, bubbly white head. Clean, fresh aroma of hops, pine, gras, and some soap. Lighter motuhfeel than expected for a IIPA. Still, a bold hop profile, with more pine and resin than grapefruit, with some strawberry. Well-balanced without using too much malt. Very nice. Snojerk321 (2015), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2008 12oz bottle from BevMo Carmel Mountain. Clear deep gold color under a fleeting white head. Citrus and pine aroma, maybe a bit of mango in there. Underlying malt sweetness too. Lightly bitter flavor profile with some building dryness in the finish. Not as sweet and heavy bodied as many of these Imperial IPAs can be, should be in the standard IPA category. bierkoning (6082), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Bottle from dkachur, thanks Dan! Orange color. Grapefruit, red berries and oily hops in the aroma. Firm oily hopbitter flavor with grapefruit and red berries. rather sharp on the tongue. The fruit isn’t dominant in the flavor. There is some malt character present to offset the oily hops a bit. Nice one! smith4498 (916), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Pours clear amber with off white head. Aromas of pine and grapefruit. Tastes like a weak IIPA. The flavors are there, just not as strong as you would expect from a IIPA. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel and average carbonation. JorisPPattyn (5189), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Medium, yellowish head over very clear pale amber beer. Hopoils jumping out of the glass, with the usual cake-like sweetish aroma behind. Bit spicy too, and resinous from the hopoils. Dry, hop-tuned beer with a slow, but very bitter finish. Pine resin flavour, white grapes, discreet cake sweetness and sultanas with a bitter edge. Very slick, oily MF, well-bodied. Very decent and restrained IIPA, not overwhelming - if a bit fade. Thanks, David A! bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 20, 2008 I found this one to be really nice and a very intriguing iipa that the hops is smack’n you upside your face but at the same time the carbonation and deep dish malts keep it extremely easy to drink, the abv will creep up quick WATCH YOURSELF.... chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2008 More of a impy pale ale. Soapy medicinal peppery band aid taste and smell that made the finish/after taste off putting. Grassy and piney and bit of carmel and citrus notes.
