Liquorice and roasted malts in nose. Medium and dry palate. Roasted and even burnt malts, bitterness, coffee in taste. Dry bitter aftertaste. Bit watery. nimbleprop (594), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 17, 2008 On tap at Messrs Maguire in Dublin. Pours an opaque, heavy looking black with a thick, creamy white head. No real carbonation. Aroma is suspiciously absent... slight roasted aroma if you search. Flavor is strong with a healthy dose of chocolate plus plenty of toast and grain. Creamy in the mouth. Great session beer and by far the best they had on tap while I was in. KM (145), Tromsø, Norway May 28, 2008 Tap. Almost black body. Creamy off white head. Sweet roasted aroma. Hints of tar and old smoke. Dry flavour, but also sweet, especially in the finish. The finish also reveals a tiny chocolate flavour. Like a Guinness with more aroma and flavour. (Messrs. Maguire Pub, Dublin, 05.05.08)
