Fantastically full flavoured, more sweet than sour. And only 3.5% ABV! Good example of my favourite beer-style. Original rate: (4.0) This is the irrefutable evidence that a beer doesn’t need high ABV to be good. Very dark brown, small head. Cherries and oak in aroma. Full taste, more sour than sweet, malty and fruity. Short finish. Excellent. bierkoning (6066), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 12, 2002 Complex aroma with oak, pepper, cherry and cinnamon. Surprisingly full bodied for such a low alcohol beer. Complex, sweet and bit sour taste with oak, cinnamon, cherry, apple and chocolate. Bit dusty. Without doubt one of the best low alcohol beers available. jbrus (4883), Delft, Netherlands

Bottle labeled BB 05-2004. Poured a medium to deeper mahogany color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of vinegar, cherries, woody, and caramel. Tastes of vinegar, cherries, berries, and some wood. Sweet and sour. Lighlty tart. This may have been old, but I really was into it. TomDecapolis (3194), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2008 Thanks to hopdog. So the last rating for this one was in April of 2005. Pours a hazy brown with a ton of chestnut notes and a smaller bubbly tan head that left some lace. Aroma of floral, funky, caramel, woody notes, perfume sweet and malty. Flavor of cherries, woody, light tartness, malty sweetness, caramel and a touch of sourness. Decent mix of sour/sweet. Rastacouere (5559), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2004 Another sincere thank you to my pal CaptainCougar for such a rare bottle Dark ruby brown, big sticky off-white head, long-lasting for a tart beer although this one is only 3.5%. Notes of sour oak, cherries, sweet caramel and blood in the aroma. Very malty palate, spicy (nutmeg) without too much sourness and a big caramel tone (actually the label proposes that this is brewed using caramel). It makes for an original, but not as pleasant example of the style to my tastes. Medium bodied, very smooth and easy going. The session flemish sour and I like it. Exceptional drinkability and nevertheless extremely flavorfull for this ABV. egajdzis (3629), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2008 Poured a murky, red brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of cherries, light vinegar, some caramel, and nuts. Taste was tart up front, light cherry, wood, and saccharine. Tart finish, nice.
