Sweet grainy nose. Typical. Light to medium bodied with a crisp body and a mild finish. Typical but well crafted. Relatively fresh and really hits the spot. This was very complimentary to the traditional cuisine.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Bottle at Addis Ababa Restaurant, Toronto. Bright golden-yellow with a very small white head. Aroma is sweet with cereal grains and some grassy hops. Flavour follows - (too) sweet off the top, with honey and icing sugar notes, and mild grassy hop notes coming in behind. Medium bodied, decently carbonated. Passable for a typical international pale lager - I’ve certainly had much, much worse. tarheels86 (799), Washington DC, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 4, 2009 330 mL sweeet bottle into pint glass. Sampled at Dukem in DC. Pours a pale yellow with a small, temporary white head that dissipates quickly but leaves some good lacing at parts. Aroma is apple cider vinegar, apple juice, white sugar, and a huge wallop of clover honey. Taste is very sweet: tons of raw cane sugar, clover honey, and some metallic/grainy malts. Cloying sweetness overtakes everything eventually. Went great with the spicy Ethiopian food though. Aggie80 (709), Michigan, USA

Thick mouthfeel with a slight hoppy acidic and sourness to the aftertaste. mpersinger (183), , California, USA

Flavor is bland malt, with a bit of extra body. Finish is a bit blunt. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA

The aroma is sweet with sweet malts. Light, but real flavor. Sour notes in the mouth, but a nice finish.
This beer was much better than expected with some real flavor. Wulfstan (509), California, USA

It is clear gold with a medium white head that soon dissipates to a thin ring and leaves no lace. The aroma is grain and honey with alcohol undertones. The taste is sweet grain and honey with an alcoholic warmth and spice in the finish. It has a clear alcoholic quality and warmth, but this is smooth and really adds to the beer in this instance and the wamr sweet-spicy finish is very nice. inventory (2), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 5, 2008 This is a very surprising beer. The taste has a spiciness that I’ve never encountered.
