Hoppy aroma, present but not assertive with malt balance. The flavor is lightly bitter with a more dry & unbalanced finish. Some PNW hoppiness but that’s where the fun ends. beerguy101 (3907), Newark, California, USA

A light to medium bodied Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are herbal and earthy and quite mild. Kind of a bland tasting Pale Ale. Malty, but not very hoppy. A little watery and thin. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 10, 2007 Sweet pale ale with a solid citrus hop kick. Pours amber, very clear, with a smooth white head. Light dusty grain flavor in the finish along with a slightly soapy aftertaste that kinda bites at the palate. Decent brew but a few things to fix for my liking. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 6, 2005 Bottle. Medium amber in color, clear. Faint off-white head forms, little lacing. Aroma is benign, light malts a touch of biscuit, citrus hops. LIght bodied, watery. Soapy flavor which really detracts. Mediocre at best. Reid (1090), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 15, 2003 Ok after some research learnt this "brand" Metolius is the Albertson's house brand brewed by Portland Brewery.
Ok comes in a 12 oz brown bottle..pic of a "brookie" trout jumping on label.
The beer itself is respectable enough looking ..nice clear amber clour with a small white head..a little lacing.
Good fresh malty aroma..quite pleasant.
Tatse ius sweet malts to begin then later a nice spicy hoppiness appears.
Quite average on the palate..too watery and thin.
Drinkable enough ..but for the price of other better pales why would you bother?
