gws57 (1000), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Dec 15, 2003 Bottled. Like a American's Guiness. Dark brown, nearly black, thick head that dissipated slowly, earthy, malty aroma, bitter taste. Not bad.
BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 I want to say this was the precursor to Amber bock, but this is terrible. No separation between the dark and the light, just an amberish dark brown color. Light and grainy and not quite horrid, but close. NomDeBeer (162), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 4, 2008 I had this about a year ago and thought that it tasted worse than dirt - absolute drain pour. Glad to see it’s retired. phishpond417 (1506), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Apr 22, 2008 I don’t think i would consider this a black and tan in the least bit. Pours a watery dark but clear brown colour. no head, aroma is sweet mouthfeel is light and somewhat dry. changeup45 (601), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 10, 2008 Not the porter but it’s alright. Dark colored and had a fairly rich flavor and texture to it. Malty with perhaps some chocolate or toffee. Weak mouthfeel, not a ton of flavor either. It had much more flavor than your standard ole Michelob however. This isn’t bad. UnholyBrewing (314), Melbourne, Australia Mar 28, 2008 ...not too bad, but a poor attempt by a huge brewery at a hard to duplicate mix beer. Watery, and not true to the style, not good.
