| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 13, 2006 Clear amber with a red hue. No head. Very fruity aroma with apple, pear, caramel, some spicy hops, alcohol. Very sweet with vanilla and bourbon, oak and a bit of astringency. Actually pretty smooth but overall weak in the flavor dept. zathrus13 (1316), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2006 Pours amber/orange, with a tan head. Aromas are sweet malt, vanilla, and wood, but they are all very subtle. Flavors are vanilla, sweet malt, bourbon, and oak. The carbonation is odd, ...there seems to be some at first, but it’s mostly on the flat side. Body is medium to light. Not as bad as I expected. It is drinkable, but far from great. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Very weak quickly diminishing head on top of a nut brown amber body. The vanilla and caramel aromas seem to be eminating from behind a regular Michelob lager dominance. Yuck. At least it tastes better than it smells or looks, although the overall sweetness is far too much for my tastes. Initially, it has the alcohol burn and taste of cheap oaky bourbon, but then sweet vanillla and caramel overpowers its way to the tongue. Unfortunately the vanilla and caramel fade quickly to a crappy "domestic pale lager" finish. This beer is in need of improvement. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2005 22.oz bottle interesting to say the least. Poured a nice amber hue with a white head, which faded fast. The vanillia was very present to this beer in pretty much took up most of the aroma and flavor. There were some minor bourbon notes but the sweet vanilla pretty much reigned supreme. Alcohol was well hidden. It was a smooth drink from start to finish and seems good as a dessert beer. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 1/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Had this at Vail Beer Fest. 2-oz. sample from a snifter. The beer poured a clear, medium-gold color with a small, frothy, mostly diminshing off-white head. The aroma is hot without much character. I can only detect miscellaneous light aromas of banana, vanilla and a corny note of DMS. Sort of like vanilla extract drizzled into an MGD. The flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter with an average-length, moderately bitter finish with an unclean taste. The body was light, the texture was watery and the carbonation was fizzy with a heavily alcoholic ending. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 26, 2006 Not as bad as it could have been, that’s what I say. The pour was dark with a good head. The aroma was definitely of vanilla and coffee. The taste was very watery and thin which was the one major letdown for this beer. The flavor wasn’t that bad, but the mouthfeel detracted from it so much that it made it less enjoyable. I’m actually glad companies like Michelob are trying to broaden their horizons--maybe a few more people come over to the "good" side because of a beer like this...
