Commercial Description:
Michelob Celebrate Vanilla Oak features distinct vanilla, caramel and aged oak flavors for a full-bodied, well-balanced taste and warm aroma. Celebrate Vanilla Oak is brewed using two-row barley, caramel malts, carapils malts as well as imported hops. It is aged on whole vanilla beans and bourbon barrel oak. Ideally served with dessert or as an after-dinner drink, Celebrate Vanilla Oak is also enjoyed in a snifter, allowing the beer’s aromas to be intensified.

Thanks to egajdzis. Pours a translucent orange with a small off white barely lacing head. Aroma of vanilla, alcohol, honey and just an overall sweetness. Flavors of the same but I started to pick up a bit of the oak in the flavor. A surprise from such a big macro brewery.

Bottle gift set that included 2 Celebrate glasses. Poured a small ivory fizzy head that mostly diminished, transparent, carbonated, and a red amber hue. Malty, caramel, vanilla, bourbon notes, and alcohol nose. Flavor was rather surprising from AB-caramel, bourbon, dry, vinuous, vanilla, thick, sweet, and some maltiness. Mouthfeel was dry, thick, tingly and vinuous. Medium body.

Bottle from the Celebrate Gift Set. Poured into the snifter that came with the set. Orange-amber pour with only spotty bubbles around the edge. Nose is vanilla, alcohol notes, wood, caramel, sweet malts and candy. Taste is pretty much following the aroma - malty and sweet with vanilla, wood, bourbon notes, light candyish hints and soft alcohol. Body is light and slick with only mild carbonation. Finishes with more candyish notes, sweet malts, light grassy notes, wood, and vanilla. Not that bad, actually!

Publix Supermarket, Tallahassee, Fl. - 750 ml bottle - malt liquor screw-off top - you’d think for $15.99 they could spring for a cork or at least a cap! Pours a dark copper with a wispy white head. Fresh, sweet aroma with some hints of cognac and vanilla extract. Flavor is smooth with some vanilla notes, caramel, candied sugar, and some brief nuttiness. Mouthfeel is silky and creamy, and coats the tongue. Good belly warming effort by the big boys - slightly impressed.

Better than the chocolate, but not all that great. Too much to ask for a brewer of this size to make something like this taste great. Just too sweet and not well balanced.

In the ridiculous screw-cap bottle. Purchased in the grocery store for $6.99. Burnt amber in color with a white head. A weak aroma of mild vanilla. Head dies quickly. Beer has a raspy, abrasive palate- the bourbon spiked alcohol burns in an unpleasant way. I like the flavors: cherry, vanilla (in a huge first flavor bolus), mapel syrup, bourbon and oak. This is possibly the best ABC product that I’ve ever tasted, but that’s not saying much. The big flaw to this beer is the serious alcohol burn that does not get any playing time with other features. It needs more malt balance to the body to contain this kind of fire. After you’re done with this, you feel an interesting bourbon taste in your mouth.

Comes in a tiny, twist-off 7floz bottle. Marked as Michelob Celebrate Oak-Aged Dark Vanilla at 10%. I really can’t find anything bad about this beer (other than the small bottle size and the twist-off). Pours an opaque brown color with no real head to speak of. Some alcohol legs run down the sides of the glass. Aroma is of banana, vanilla, figs, oak, sugar and chocolate. Has a smell that I could best describe as a mix between an Eisbock and a Belgian Quad. Taste is of vanilla, chocolate and banana, and is very upfront and bold with all three (a bit unrefined). Oak comes on in the finish. Goes down creamy smooth (as expected from a 10%). Bubbles are very soft. Alcohol isn’t well hidden. Pretty good beer overall, I wish A-B would make more stuff of this quality.

Bottle. Nice ruby-amber beer with no head. Sweet aroma with some vanilla over a bit of DMS. Sweet vanilla flavor with some cola that overpowers any grain/malt underneath. Sweetness lingers. Vanilla is way overdone.
