Taste is very vanilla up fron too and some wood finishing w/the alcohol right there. Pretty good stuff but a little pricy. Cool bottle, like a rocket. Probably gets a little bit of a bad rap because it’s an attempt at a nice beer by Budweiser. Decent I thought. pivo (2535), Germany

Creamy vanilla body with no bitter. Like cream soda. Soapy mouthfeel. Smooth at times, but just odd overall and not so enjoyable. Keep trying, A-B - this ain’t it. jgb9348 (2499), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Nice amber coloured body with a huge ruby coloured tint. Aroma of strong oak, bad funky malt and strong vanilla. Medium-bodied; Strong bad taste of malt, alcohol, vanilla and vomit. Aftertaste is that bad throw-up flavour with some vanilla, strong sweetness and some malt. Overall, this beer was absolutely horrible. I can’t believe I spent nearly $10 on this piece of crap, but I guess its all worth trying. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 04-January-2006. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 10, 2006 22oz bottle pours copper with a short tan head. Aroma is vanilla, a touch of oak, and some caramel. Flavor is vanilla, but almost fake vanilla like someone dumped in some extract, oak, caramel, and some alcohol. Very thin and watery on the palate. Very odd and lacking in malt to give it the backbone. I really didn’t like this.. Should have known better robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2005 Brown with Red Tints Coloring with a White Ring. Rich Malty Vanilla and Oak Aroma. The Aroma Really Made This Brew a Surprise. The Vanilla is a Very Solid Rich Aroma. The Oak Barrells do Give Off a Toasted Bourbon and Oak Smell. If You Were Going to Barrel Age a Beer, These are the Notes I’d Want to Strive For. For the Most Part, the Aroma Carries Onto the Tongue. The Vanilla Does Not Recede and Heavy and Solid Presence of Barrel Aging Comes Through Very Well...and After Several Sips, a Light Watery Beer Taste Seems to Come Up at the Back of Your Mouth. Overall the Vanilla Bourbon Barrel Aroma and Taste are Superb and Perhaps Taste Best When Using a Relatively Even Keeled Beer as a Base. For Complexities’ Sake, I would Love to See These Flavors on Top of a Robust Stout or Other Full Bodied Beer. End the End, it’s Like Trying to Dress up a Bad Beer, but They Did a Damn Find Job of it. Cheers to Michelob for a Nice Job! KAggie97 (2457), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

Pours a watery, dull amber with minimal head. Aroma is like a typical macro brew; I detect not one drop of "bourbon-like, caramelized toward the nose." Well, a bit of sweetness in the aroma, but not much else. Very subtle sweetness, a bit like a light mead. I detect a smidgen of bourbon and oak, but it’s very subtle. Alcohol is slightly in the mix, giving the drinker a bit of tingy bite in the aftertaste. A bit of brandy emerges as it warms. Palate is a bit watery, but I suppose that’s the intention... ? Actually, this isn’t a bad brew, but the $9 price tag for 24 oz. will probably keep me from buying this again. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany

Hello Mr. Bottle Designer, have you had to much of this beer or was that your funny little gimmick??? Light red color, no head - mmmmh - not quite the appearance I see on that picture to the left, I guess Photoshop doesn*t work in my head. Ok nose - some almond, clay and woody notes but also alcohol. Fizzy carbonation and a cherry vanilla and alcohol taste. Actually like a cheap fusel - am I disappointed? No, not really. Just because Mc Donalds names a Hamburger "Royal" it doesn’t make it more than a greasy piece of beef in between a bread roll. unclemattie (2415), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Picked up a duel gift pack of Vanilla Oak and Chocolate w/ two snifters at Publix #469. This may be the most beutiful pour I’ve seen on any A-B! Reddish amber, a lager?, offwhite thin head. Alcohol meniscus on the snifter. Smells like a sweet yellow cake. A ton of vanilla flavor. Creamy texture, not a lot of carbonation. Definite oak in the finish. Overall it reminds me of a drug store vanilla perfume. Different, refreshing, but flavor for a beer. Definitly the better one of the two in the box set. Give it to a newbie...
