Commercial Description:
Michelob Celebrate Vanilla Oak features distinct vanilla, caramel and aged oak flavors for a full-bodied, well-balanced taste and warm aroma. Celebrate Vanilla Oak is brewed using two-row barley, caramel malts, carapils malts as well as imported hops. It is aged on whole vanilla beans and bourbon barrel oak. Ideally served with dessert or as an after-dinner drink, Celebrate Vanilla Oak is also enjoyed in a snifter, allowing the beer’s aromas to be intensified.

An interesting attempt by AB but it fails where it should succeed. The taste has an initial taste of vanilla and maple syrup. Although the vanilla seems a bit artificial. The bourbon oak goes nicely. its pleasant start is interrupted by a lousy after taste. There is not much to praise about,

Lightly hazed copper hue, decent head formation. Intensely sugarry, vanilla nose. Overpowering vanilla flavor (why not let the beer pick it up itself instead of adding it), burnt caramel underneath, fairly sweet and cloying. Still much more character than I was expecting, so not a disappointment in that regard but just a little off balance. A screw cap and no cork, however. They seemed to put a lot of effort into the packaging that it’s a shame.

Celebrate, my friends. Let’s see. All 6.5 billion - 82 people that have not had the experience of drinking this beer. I was surprised that such a product existed. Now I am disgusted. This is raunchy and disgusting. When you crack the lid some vanilla aroma sneaks out but then it is totally dominated by alcohol and god, let’s see, some weird chemicals...maybe melted plastic. Flavor is alcohol, medicine, a little vanilla. copper color with no head. It tastes like a nasty brandy mixed drink. At $8 for 26 oz. stay away from this at all costs. I don’t understand why with all the money and resources that Busch has why they can’t create a good tasting beer.

Amber color with a thin white head. Lots of vanilla extract in the aroma. Taste is bad. Too sweet, the vanilla tastes like straight up extract and there’s not much bourbon in there at all. Thick and syrupy mouthfeel. Still has that AB cheapness to it.

Very disappointed by this beer. I was hoping that AB, with all their brewing expertise, might finally have come out with a good speciality brew, but no such luck. This stuff tastes like malt beverage flavored with vanilla extract, with hardly any malt or hop aroma, and little taste. A thin head and no lacing on the glass. Gets worse as it warms up.

Pours an amber with a creamy white head. Smells of chocholate and vanilla. Tastes like vanilla and chocholate, and aftertaste is almost like you just got done taking a shot of captain morgan.

Bottle, Vail Beer Fest. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel), with notes vanilla, candy sugar, and DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. If you’re even slightly meticulous, you will find the macro-swill smell underneath the sugary and vanilla notes. That’s a shame, really...why use a shitty base beer to make a special brew? Oh, right, this is A-B we’re talking about. God forbid they would actually avoid shortcuts and adjuncts for a fancy packaged celebratory beer. That would cost money.
