Commercial Description:
Michelob Celebrate Vanilla Oak features distinct vanilla, caramel and aged oak flavors for a full-bodied, well-balanced taste and warm aroma. Celebrate Vanilla Oak is brewed using two-row barley, caramel malts, carapils malts as well as imported hops. It is aged on whole vanilla beans and bourbon barrel oak. Ideally served with dessert or as an after-dinner drink, Celebrate Vanilla Oak is also enjoyed in a snifter, allowing the beer’s aromas to be intensified.

Pours nice ruby-amber , bright snowy head on top . aroma-vanilla icecream like , mild sweetness behind . Vanilla is not my favourite falvour when it comes to beer and there is plenty of it . Alcohol is well hidden thanks to it . decent malt base , many craft brewers cant hide alcohol as well as this beer does .

Publix Supermarket, Tallahassee, Fl. - 750 ml bottle - malt liquor screw-off top - you’d think for $15.99 they could spring for a cork or at least a cap! Pours a dark copper with a wispy white head. Fresh, sweet aroma with some hints of cognac and vanilla extract. Flavor is smooth with some vanilla notes, caramel, candied sugar, and some brief nuttiness. Mouthfeel is silky and creamy, and coats the tongue. Good belly warming effort by the big boys - slightly impressed.

This beer pours a reddish amber color from a 750ml screw top(!!) bottle. Small sized quickly diminishing white foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, vanilla, oak, brown sugar and molasses. A medium to lighter bodied ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, with touches of caramel and biscuit. Hops are sort of non-existent. A touch sweet, hints of oak and the vanilla flavor while prevalent is not annoying. Touch of alcohol bite at 10%. OK the screw cap top is tacky with a capital T. The beer is a huge step up from the usual AB product. I bought and tasted this beer with quite a bit of trepidation. Knowing what AB usually turns out I was hesitant to shell out US $9 for a 750ml bottle of this beer. I was surprised with a good (not great) solid beer. OK AB, please make a beer of this quality all the time. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Copper color which borders on red with no head. Nice aroma of vanilla and dark cherries. The oak shines through in the taste and vanilla is certainly present. Sweet finish. There are some subtle notes of the typical Michelob corn and graininess, but the oak covers it nicely. A fairly decent offering, however... "similar to fine cognac"?! Bwahahaha!

Thanks to egajdzis. Pours a translucent orange with a small off white barely lacing head. Aroma of vanilla, alcohol, honey and just an overall sweetness. Flavors of the same but I started to pick up a bit of the oak in the flavor. A surprise from such a big macro brewery.

750 ml bottle poured a clear copper with a small, diminishing amber head. Aromas of vanilla, carmel, brown sugar and light bourbon. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of brown sugar, vanilla and a hint of wood with a warming, lingering sweet finish.

First of all; was quite disappointed to discover this wasn’t a corked bottle (i noticed before taking it home). I start on better notes: this is one of the better lagers i’ve had. And i’m not at a big fan of lagers. The vanilla comes through w/ the malt in the nose, and through the body of the beer as you sip it. Tastes slightly flat, or at least under carbonated... but that’s relative to comparison to other lagers. Oak and caramal notes come through nicely through the bourbon barrel aging (any subtle vanilla notes from the wood are completely nulled by the addition of the whole vanilla bean.) thick and syrupy for a lager, and very sweet. Alcohol is well hidden, but the bourbon notes keep reminding me of drinking bourbon on the rocks after the ice melts. kinda tastes like watered down malty bourbon w/ loads of sugar and vanilla added. Mildy sharp finish with notes of cranberry. not a bad beer by any means, but i’d likely reserve this as a one time beer. far from a daily drinker.
