Pours a clear amber with a medium frothy light tan head that diminishes quickly leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong clove banana and spice. Thin mouthfeel with a smokey clove and brown sugar and real grainy. Not much going on with this one.

Great dark color, wonderful spicy, malty flavor. Wouldn’t have known it was an A-B product if I hadn’t seen the bottle. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 6, 2009 They had this at a local German beer tasting, but there wasn’t much there I hadn’t had so why not. Amber color with a short lived off white head. Banana, clove and acetate nose. Thin banana clove flavor with some dark brown sugar and an artificial chemical acetate note that bugged me. Not an awful beer, but I never would have guessed dunkel weizen. aarhus99 (4), USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Yeah, I know, ABMichelob / McBeer / McMassProduced = McCrap... and yet... this is Some Good Stuff! As a fan of the better German dark weizens, I quavered at the thought of drinking this but Gosh-be-darned, after a fair and full taste test, against the likes of Julius Echter and his brethen, this concoction holds its own. With a fragrant nose of the requisite banana, cloves, hint of lemon pepper complexity, combined with an edgy soupcon of fresh tarmac, this 12-oz’er boldly asserts authenticity over other domestic and foreign wheat beer poseurs and pretenders and poured precisely as it should: langourously producing an unfiltered swirl of yeast settling into the bottom of the glass... Add a deliciously creamy mouthfeel,, marred slightly by an overly busy carbonation, and a malty bavaraian backbone to complete an overall impression of a solid contribution to my all-time favorite session beers. ABMichelob delivers on this one, proving that bigger isn’t, necessarily, badder. At least not always..... shalloWMeans (160), Independence, Kentucky, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2009 From Michelob wheat beer sampler 12-pk- couldn’t pass it up for 9 dollars. Very beautiful amber-brown/mahogany/copper color with a big white appetizing head. There is an instant aroma of (Bazooka Joe) bubblegum, with spicy clove, vanilla, chocolate malt and phenolic yeast. The mouthfeel is less creamy and more carbonated than I would have liked, but does have decent, solid medium body. The taste is of wheat malt, toasted, spiced caramel, and banana (bananas foster anyone?) with a peppery spice background of clove and nutmeg. This is not bad at all for a Michelob product. Of course, I’m a big fan of dark wheat beers- and this one holds it’s own- somewhat lacking in personality but still the best Anheuser-Busch product I’ve tried. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Bottle: Pours a dark(clear) amber color with fizzy head that dwindles fast. Nice lacing though. The nose is lightly toasty with some yeast (?!) and wheat notes along with a brief hint of hops. The flavor is lightly malty with some caramel and more yeast esters. Something is different here... There’s actually a solid underlying yeast and some premium (on the industry level, not just inter-inbev premium) roasted malts. Still a bit thin, but drinkable. nittanytide (36), Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 17, 2009 Poured a dark amber, with a quickly diminishing head. Balance of dark wheat and hops. No taste here is particularly overpowering. Watery Finish. Decent.
