Commercial Description:
Much like the longer days ahead, silky, smooth Michelob Honey Wheat brightens many a spirit. This filtered crystal weisse is brewed with wheat barley malts and orange blossom honey, creating a pronounced floral aroma with hints of citrus. Pour this golden ale in a tall, wide-mouthed glass and allow yourself a moment to stop and smell.

Clear dark golden color. Aroma is of sweeter malts, light honey, and a little citrus in the undertones. Taste is of sweeter malts, caramel, honey, and spices. Not too bad for an AB product.

Bottle courtesy of Fratto. Heavy orange color, consistent with the color of rich honey. Strong honey smell can be picked up before the glass even comes near your nose. This has the level of honey on the nose that one would expect from a mead or bragget. Also has a fair sense of dry apple. Tastes of honey and dry grains. Wheaty only in the aftertaste. Fairly straight forward in the sense of being a honey beer, but for some reason I just can’t get into it.

Golden in color. Head almost non-existent after a minute. All I taste is honey and a little bit of bread. Unless you enjoy honey beers, I would stay away from this one. Overall, I didn’t find it very enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden with a small frothy white head that leaves decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt with caramel The taste is a watery malt with caramel, honey and light hops. Not much goin on with this one.

Pale straw-gold with a medium, short-lived white head. Aroma is instantly of honey, wheat, grape juice, vanilla, and peppery spice. Very nice, but on the first sip, none of these flavors are apparent and your’e left with an empty over-carbonated beverage with a light, oily palate. Some flavor begins to present itself in the finish- pepper, oranges, limeade, and undeniable sweet sticky honey linger for a short while. Not as thin as I expected, but definitely lacking in flavor and character.
