CelticBrew (450), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Dec 18, 2006 Pours out a light amber color, with a clear body. Aroma of some malts and hops. Flavor was of a bit bland hopping followed by a weak malt ending. I geuss its ok coming from a mega brewer, but not really spectacular.
BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 Clear amber coloring with a bit of a biscuity caramel nose. Lightly roasted maltiness on the palate, with just a hint of spice and grassy hoppiness. Not bad, but then it is not really good either. Kind of a middle of the road dark lager. subcell (95), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA Jun 30, 2008 Damn... tuff crowd to please. As I live in the US and not in Germany I think this is the best damn Marzen for the money. I have had a lot of the micro brew fest beers and I feel as though I am drinking hops not beer. I thought this was well balanced and delicious for a mass producer in the US. phishpond417 (1363), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 20, 2008 clear copper colour with a medium sized vanilla head. aromas of soft caramel and touch of roasted malts. little spice and as mentioned a touch of skunkiness. kind of weak for a marzen. daknole (644), Plantation, Florida, USA Jun 11, 2008 Eh, I have grown tired of trying the Mich beers in hopes that they actually brew a good one. I give up. mweber962000 (49), USA May 31, 2008 very good seasonal brew from a mass producer. great price for the beer. pours a light dark with a head that kinda sticks around. hey for 4.99 a sixer this is worth a shot in october. middle of the road in every category cant complain. looking forward to having again. ab has a decent go at a product but not close to other styles like this like spaten.
