Commercial Description:
Michelob Porter is brewed using the finest classic aroma hop varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest United States and two-row, caramel and chocolate barley malts, giving it an aroma of coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is dark brown in color and, when held to light, ruby-red highlights can be seen. The porter complements a variety of cheeses, shellfish dishes as well as chocolate desserts, and is best enjoyed when served in a traditional pub style glass.

An interesting beer. AB keeps cranking out some what decent beers. Pours out a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head. aroma is full of roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor has a nice chocolate sweet flavor, but fades very quickly.

Bottle, born on 11/1/07. Poured deep reddish-brown with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up dry-roasted dark chocolate and caramel maltage, but it just didn’t have a hook. The flavor was sweeter with well-roasted dark malts (approached but never adequately hit dark chocolate) with dry herbal and cardboardey bitterness on the back-end.. non-offensive, but not very good. Dry and lighter-bodied on the palate.. too much roast and not enough dark malt character.

Bottle. Poured a dark red/brown body with thin head. Aroma is light chocolate, light roast and sweetness. Flavor is light choclate, roast, caramel. My biggest problem with the beer was the fact on how unbalanced the flavors were making it very difficult to drink a whole bottle of in a timely manner.

Surprisingly nice looking porter, mahogany with a nice enough tan head, though it doesnt persist long, but leaves Ok lacing. Aroma is rather subdued, roasty ,toasty malts. Flavour tasty malts, hints of dark coffee , some toffee hints, bitter chocolate after taste. Ok on the palte. Actually not too bad a porter from A-B, one of the better beers I have had from them.

I was a little surprised about this brew as I had low expectations coming from AB. Dark color with decent head. A fairly respectable porter thats cheap and easy to find.

This is another fine AB product. It is very malty which I enjoy. Nice dark color with a pleasant nose. It has a semi sweet caramel flavor and goes down real easy.
