daknole (518), Plantation, Florida, USA May 8, 2008 well i cant rate this at the lowest score. it is better than you would ever expect. a world class porter? oh hell now. but it has some decent malt and chocolate flavor. fair.
edden (886), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2008 7/19/08: Bottle. Deep brown body with a thin tan head. Spotty lace. Nose of toasted chocolate malt, hazelnut and a spot of hops. Flavors include chocolate and coffee with a nice amount of bitterness. Better than I expected for a Michelob product. Ughsmash (2817), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle, born on 11/1/07. Poured deep reddish-brown with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up dry-roasted dark chocolate and caramel maltage, but it just didn’t have a hook. The flavor was sweeter with well-roasted dark malts (approached but never adequately hit dark chocolate) with dry herbal and cardboardey bitterness on the back-end.. non-offensive, but not very good. Dry and lighter-bodied on the palate.. too much roast and not enough dark malt character. jason (1465), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark red/brown body with thin head. Aroma is light chocolate, light roast and sweetness. Flavor is light choclate, roast, caramel. My biggest problem with the beer was the fact on how unbalanced the flavors were making it very difficult to drink a whole bottle of in a timely manner. Reid (981), Salem, Oregon, USA Jul 6, 2008 Surprisingly nice looking porter, mahogany with a nice enough tan head, though it doesnt persist long, but leaves Ok lacing.
Aroma is rather subdued, roasty ,toasty malts.
Flavour tasty malts, hints of dark coffee , some toffee hints, bitter chocolate after taste.
Ok on the palte.
Actually not too bad a porter from A-B, one of the better beers I have had from them. BlockBrew (49), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 I was a little surprised about this brew as I had low expectations coming from AB. Dark color with decent head. A fairly respectable porter thats cheap and easy to find.
