Commercial Description:
Michelob Porter is brewed using the finest classic aroma hop varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest United States and two-row, caramel and chocolate barley malts, giving it an aroma of coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is dark brown in color and, when held to light, ruby-red highlights can be seen. The porter complements a variety of cheeses, shellfish dishes as well as chocolate desserts, and is best enjoyed when served in a traditional pub style glass.

Pours a redish brown with a very thin head. Slight aromas of chocolate and brown sugar. Watered down flavor and a very thin body. Not good at all.

12 oz. bottle- Pours almost black with almost no head, aroma is almost nonexistent, maybe some malt. The flavor is malt, pretty much your average porter, not horrible or great, totally mediocre.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep clear brown with a small light tan froth. Aroma is very chocolate and coffee oriented. Nice sharp roasted malt, pleasantly surprised with the nose. Flavor starts with a sharp black malt zing. Gets a decent chocolate note and coffee flavor before a lightly bitter and black coffee finish. Medium body and a tingling carbonation. Surprised that it was decent but still weak in character compared to the big boys,

12 oz bottle. Aromas of chocolate, caramel; sweet. Pours deep, deep brown with reddish tints. Tastes like an English-style porter; toasted malt, sweet. Creamy mouthfeel. Maybe slightly watery, but not bad at all. These Michelob beers constantly surprise me. Most of the time, these specialty beers from AB are pretty much mediocre to terrible, but every now and then they make a pretty good beer.

I didn’t have much expectations for this one, but I actually kind of enjoyed it, a nice easy drinking roasty porter, for those looking for the porter aroma and taste and a beer you can drink a few of, this is a viable option

Dark brown pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is medium toasted malt, some chocolate, and light coffee. The flavor mirrors the nose with a pretty nice finishing chocolate flavor. A bit fizzy and thin but really an ok porter.

A solid, easy-drinking, inoffensive porter suitable for beer geeks and swill drinkers alike. In make-up, it is similar to a black and tan style beer. Pours a dark brown body with ok head. Easy coffee and light chocolate nose. Smooth, lightly roasted barley flavor with a balanced finish. A mellow porter.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a small head. This one surprised me; Anheuser Busch managed to make a good beer. It tastes like a real porter, if a bit bland. All the elements are there: roasted malts, smoothness, chocolatey finish. A great beer for the price.
