Flavor is rye, malt, biscuit, bitter hops, a bit soapy with a bitter finish. Surprised to taste the rye and hops so much in this beer. Good effort from Michelob, keep em coming. dkachur (2358), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Bottle from a sampler pack at a Grocery Outlet store. Pours a clear reddish copper with a three-finger foamy beige head. Aroma is rather sweet with a little florality and light spice. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is mainly rye, with some light floral hop. A bit malty for an IPA, but the rye spice aspect is pretty good. Somewhat astringent. The rye makes it. thegreenrooster (1824), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Pour is a dark brown with a average white head. Aroma is of sweet malts and not much in the way of hops. Flavor is again more caramel malts and almost no noticable hops. Leaves a little earthyness on the tounge after the swallow which I guess is the rye but where are the hops? This is a pretty poor effort. hogan873 (325), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Deep amber body with a soapy white head that leaves little lacing. Nice sweet aroma of malt and sugared grapefruit. Overall smooth and easy to drink, but the palate is a bit light. The flavor starts sweet with the malt characteristics. The brew quickly turns towards the IPA it claims to be with pine and grapefruit notes and a nice punch of rye spice. Nice effort by AB. rudolf (1758), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Tasted blind. Nose is sweet, slightly fruity, a bit of bublegum. Malt is slightly grapey, then some plummy/rummy notes. A bit of hop but not much. Great body & carbonation level. Bockyhorsey (2525), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Bottle. Sweet malt aroma more of an amber ale. Amber body with off white head. Flavor more on the malt sweetener side with the spicey rye present. Sweet spice notes on palalte. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Clear, amber color with a small, foamy, white head.
Aroma: A bit of spicy hops, some light fruit notes, and a bit of malt.
Flavor: The spicy side comes out a bit more and there is a decent hop bite. Don’t get me wrong, this ain’t no Two Hearted, but it could be worse. A little bit of citric hops and some maltiness.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium body and a medium-long, bitter finish.
Overall: It is what it is. This could be far, far worse. Take it or leave it.
