bethmatt0421 (317), Covington, Kentucky, USA Mar 9, 2006 Maybe some bready notes in this, but mostly watery. Faint hops. Pale yellow in color. Not insulting, just not something I would prefer to drink very often. Maybe as a last resort. beerdrinker101 (56), USA Mar 6, 2006 This is exactly what it claims to be....low calorie...low carb...low taste beer. I love one of these after I run a 20 mile marathon...not kcmole (28), USA Mar 5, 2006 Very close to water...would be refreshing if was playing sports and didn’t have gatorade or water around. Not even close to beer, though. rebelbrewer (125), Lithonia, Georgia, USA Feb 28, 2006 12 ounce bottle and then another and another… I poured this into a pilsner glass. Pours a very light gold color (straw) and has a substantial head that quickly fades.
I smelled the glass before I poured in the beer, nothing. After the beer was in there I gave it a few more sniffs. Metallic is the best I can come up with. Hint, don’t smell it. That’s not what this beer is about.
Ever tasted water? Ultra is clean and leaves no after taste. It just doesn’t have a taste.
On the palate there is nothing to complain about. And I mean that, nothing. Ever drink water?
Can you drink water? If the answer is yes, then you can drink Ultra.
BTW Ultra is about low carbohydrates. It has 2.6 grams per 12 ounces and is 4.2 % ABV. Regular Mich is 5% ABV and 13.3 grams of carbs per 12 oz. Let’s do some ’rithmetic 2.6 goes-in-ta 13.3 round about 5 times.
patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 24, 2006 tap - Do you want some club soda with a bit of alcohol? If so, you’re in luck! Buy this beer. It has almost no flavor of any kind. That’s right, even less flavor than most light beers. Granted you won’t find the flavor offensive, but that’s because there isn’t any. dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA Feb 17, 2006 Draft, verrry pale color, forced myself to drink slow so that I could at least try to taste it since it went down like water. Not a big fan of low-carb, but i’d look into rolling rock green if you need to go low carb. beerbomb (172), New Jersey, USA Feb 16, 2006 I suggest the rater below order a seltzer next time hes at the bar...this is this most ridiculous of marketing campaigns--i specifically remember the commercial showing people playing sports etc like a gatorade commercial-i even joked about seeing this next in a sports bottle--i guess its effective for what it is, but why would you want that? if youre THAT concerned about calories/carbs, you shouldnt be drinking often enough to require a beer like this. i have had it and it simply does not have anything in the way of aroma or flavor. If youre rating this for ’what it is’ and not a pale lager, then it should be put in a different catagory MrWeekend13 (2), USA does not count Feb 14, 2006 Beautiful Low Carb Flavor with a no after taste. Take this beer for what it was created for... Low Carb Drinking. For those who are looking for a Fine Lager, spend your hard earned Dollars on the Honey Brown, Pink Chablet, Blueberry Muffin Pale Ale Lager. Or whatever other pretensious Draught you go for to impress.
