Grainy nose, spicy peppery notes. Some fruit is detectable. Flavor is a nice grain and spice combo, some yeastiness. Best Michigan Celis so far, but that isn’t saying much. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2006 Bottle. Pours gold with a small white head. The nose on this is similar to the Celis Raspberry (minus the raspberries) and the Celis White - grainy, yeasty, spicy and slightly fruity. This leans more towards pepper than the others. The grains and yeast are also a bit more subdued as well. Some dried fruit notes in this as well. The taste bring the spices out a bit more and it’s solid peppery notes, light flowery flavors, dried fruit (pear, soft banana), yeast and wheat/grains. Body is light and slightly effervescent. Finishes with more spices, grains, subtle fruit notes, and yeast. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Fair taste, though it’s a bit bland, very light fruits. Sweet and hot ending. starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Made a good appearance, poured a slightly hazy pale straw golden with a foamy white that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, good carbonation.
Had a nose of herds and coriander spices, dry yeasty with a sweet wheat maltiness.
A crisp and smooth lightish medium bodied mouthfeel, above average drinkability.
Herbal and coriander spiciness, a light orange zestiness, grainy and sweet wheat malty, the alcohol is softly spicy and provides a low warmth in the palate, a subtle dry yeastiness and a dry malty, yeasty and lemony finish. The alcohol is masked well enough to make this a bit dangerous.
A decent Grand Cru, I still prefer Allagash, but this is tasty and quaffable.

A good attempt, but not great eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Poured with light yellow color and little head that didn’t even lace well. Aroma was spicy and of coriander and oranges. Flavor was much of the same with perhaps some candy sugar mixed in. Sweet beer that is refreshing but somewhat rich.
