Pours a medium to dark amber color with just the slightest bit of opacity. Decent, compact white head evolves and slowly fades away to a layer and ring around the edge. Great intricate lacing is left behind. Aroma is a bit funktified. Malty with a touch of catty/earthy hops. Strange, not entirely pleasant but not horrifying. Medium bodied with fair carbonation. Flavor runs amok. Initially sweet malts are counteracted by a earthy hop presence that just doesn’t cut it. Strange spice/pepper/funk taste towards the finish. Not that great. Flavor again sweet malt up front with some fruit through the middle, mostly orange with a slight herbal and spice hop character in finish. thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2005 This bottled brew poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting unnoted colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent and light brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of spicy malty . Its mouth feel is initially tingly with a lingering tingly palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained mild malty spicy hoppy notes and was tasty. An interesting beer that was better than I expected. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

Small ivory head that mostly diminished, fine, small and large sized bubbles, poor lacing, carbonated, transparent, and an orange hue. Malty, caramel, spicy and herb aroma. Flavor was malty, some hops and spicy. Tingly mouthfeel. An easy drinking brew. FrankJohansen (3398), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Bottle: Aroma is candy fruity with light cinnamon and something that sort of smells like alcohol, but obviously can’t be at only 5%. Pours a transparent amber with an insignificant white head with no staying power whatsoever, only a faint ring around the glass. Flavor is rather light. Honey and fruit (mostly apple) are present up front with a light bitterness, spice, and a touch of woodiness in the finish. There is just the slightest hint of metal, which I could do without. Overall not bad, just not enough strong flavors. Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2005 Better than advertised here, at least for those of us who aren’t big fans of bock beers. Thanks to Kawa for sending this one out to me! Dark gold or pale amber color, decent head, clear. Aroma was faintly sweet, not a whole lot going on there. The flavor was lightly sweet, with a touch of smoke and light, almost spicy hops in the finish. Easy drinking, only the style appropriate sweetness really detracts from this as a nice session beer for me. ¾ (5011), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 5, 2005 12oz bottle. ugh this is making me sick. huge foamy head that looks like its a nitro head. clear dark amber color underneath. smells very creamy, with some almond and milk flavor... but fairly light, nothing too big or up front to notice. like a cream ale, almost. the nose turns into something nasty, though, like an old moldy ashtray... bad tobacco, its gross.
