Jul 9, 2006 12 oz bottle shared with and courtesy of gputty. Light brown with a small white head. Lightly toasty biscuit nose. Flavor is more biscuit, plus some light caramel and an underlying fruitiness. Some nutty notes, especially in the finish. Not great, but OK.

Jul 2, 2006 Bottle. Copper hue with a small white head. Nose is malty and sweet with light nutty aromas, some fruit notes and soft caramel. Light spiciness as well. That taste on this is also rather nutty and malty with lots of caramel, light spicy hops and fruits. Body is medium with light carbonation and a lingering spiciness. Finishes with more malts, light caramel, spices, light hops, and fruit.

Jun 23, 2006 Made a good appearance, poured a clear copper with a foamy beige head that settled into a thin lacing, good carbonation.
Had a sweet malty nose, caramel and grain nutty with a light fruity spiciness at the edges.
A crisp, dry and smooth medium bodied mouthfeel, good drinkability.
Nice and grainy taste, toasted with a soft roastiness, nutty with a subtle sweet caramel, a fruity spiciness in the middle with a mild bitterness and a dry grainy nut bready finish.
I’ve never had the Austin, Texas brewed Celis, so I can’t compare, but I thought this was tasty and quite enjoyable, a good mixing of styles.

Jun 20, 2006 Bottle from brewery- Pours hazy amber/brown with a rocky cloud of a head. Rye bread and peppery malt aroma. Pretty one dimensional in the taste. Sweet bready malt. Some spiced flavours as well. Kinda seems like a take on De Konink? About as expected. Finishes off dry and bready pepper.

Jun 14, 2006 12 oz bottle. Cloudy brown with a rocky head. Aroma is strangely big alcohol and caramel. Taste is mild hopped with a peppery spiciness. Texture is good as is the mouthfeel but the flavor is a bit metalic or tinny. Not worth the effort to drink.

Mar 2, 2006 Draft sampler at MBC. Poured a deep reddish amber with a small white head that diminished quickly. Good malty and citrus aroma. Medium body. Moderate balanced malt light hop citrus flavor with an average spicy finish. Another very interesting brew.
