I decided to try this head to head with the Michigan Brewing Celis Grand Cru so that I could compare the two styles... The White is a hazy light golden yellow with moderate carbonation. Foamy white head that recedes pretty quickly and doesn’t even leave mch of a crown. Aromas of wheat, banana, lemon, and clove. Flavor is pretty sweet initially (for a white beer), then kind of yeasty, then followed by a nice orangy banana and slightly spicy (sublte, almost like corriander) and sour flavor that finishes it out. Overall this is a pretty light beer that is above average for the style. 12 oz bottle; $1.50 from River’s Bend.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow/gold into a tumbler. Bright white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Medicinial orange and fratroom floor notes. Upfront beer mung which turns slightly sour/citrus and then back to beer mung again. Not like the original at all - major dissapointment in a style made for summer.

Not a bad offering here. Pours lemony-haze straw into the glass with a huge frothy head, great retention, and soapy lace. The nose contains wheat, lemon, and ever-so-slight burning kindling. Lots of lemony citrus in the flavor dept., backed by a generous helping of wheat and yeast. Mid-pull, corriander and unripened soft banana notes show up, but they are almost overshadowed by the citrus forefront. The finish offers hints of mash and sours, which really accent the brew. The carbonation levels are light, which make the beer a bit thinner than I would’ve expected, and not quite as crisp. It’s definitely a summer offering, and overall, not a bad one due to the nice array of complexities working well together.

Pours lightly hazy gold with a one-finger, large-bubbled head. Wheat dominates the aroma, which is rounded out by some coriander and citrus. Very citrusy, fruity flavor. Good. Extra points because it doesn’t taste like every single other Witbier out there.

Bottle at Eulogy in Philly. Citrus aroma, lemon, with some wheat and spice. The flavor really showcases the corriander, some banana, some citrus, and spice.

Head was gone but for a wisp of white on the edges very quickly. Aroma - maybe citrus, but some weird meat smell. Not bad but not the clove and other aromas I’m reading from others. Flavor is very lemony with almost no bitterness but some acidity. I don’t like that much but I’ll buy another bottle because this one seems different than what others are saying.

Pours a classic cloudy yellow with a white head. Clove, banana, citrus/lemon and coriander in the nose. Flavor has notes of pineapple, orange, lemon, banana, clove, wheat and a little spiciness. Pleasantly sweet. Medium to light bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Enjoyable stuff.

fluffy white head that dropped to a ring quickly over pale yellow. spicy with corriander, clove, belgian yeast and bananas. very crisp and clean mouthfeel.
