Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

poured out a straw color with a thin white head that dissipated quickly with decent lacing. nose consisted of clove, citrus, fruit, and flowers. nice tart citric flavors as well as spice. a bit watery and light, but good nonetheless. finished witha bitter almost lemony flavor. good, but won’t purchase again.

When Pierre Celis was making this in Austin, it was one of the best american wits hands down. Thanks to Michigan Brewing Company for reviving this great beer. However, it stops well short of being as good as the original, and it really needs to be fresh. The sweetness diminishes rather quickly in the bottles. Still worth drinking and better than Blue Moon.

pissy white head, the only redeeming value is in the sweet yeasty belgian nose, citrusy, tart belgian flavor, light, watery, finishes slightly bitter, nice belgian blonde, didn’t even realize it was the work of the michigan brewing company until right now

Bottle poured a cloudy golden yellow with a long lasting white head. Aromas of stinky feet, hint of orange and a bit of spicyness. Palate was light bodied crisp and refreshing. Flavors of bread, orange, and some spices with a refreshing sweet finish.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow with a small thin head that went away quickly. Aroma is wheat, lemon, belgian spices. Refreshing with flavors similar to the aroma. A well done Belgian White.
