Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Thanks Floyd! A cloudy yellowish beer with a small white head that lasts a few minutes. A nose full of coriander and bread pudding. Flavor is similar to the aroma with citrus fruit. A nice zingy feel. Late in the glass a dry sour funky bitterness shows up. This is a nice clean and refreshing wit.

12oz bottle 7/13/09 (Siciliano’s Market-Grand Rapids)-Pours a slightly hazy yellowish golden with a big loose white head. Aroma of Belgian, coriander, yeast, wheat, and spices. Taste is of spices that last throughout then kick it up on the back end. In the middle the citrus, corinder, and yeast come through. This medium bodied brew is quite good. This is my all time favorite beer when it was brewed by Celis and Michigan does a pretty decent job of trying to keep it alive but it must have been the Austin water but it just isn’t the same.

light amber color with a full body. An average flavor that isn’t overpowering...it is what it is...

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy lighter golden with a small sudsy white head that subsides into a dense fine froth. Fairly accurate Belgian aroma, quite spicy, sweet, lots of wheat, yeast. Flavor is super spicy up front and on the finish, but still quite full in flavor with a large backbone, definitely enough to support up to 6% alcohol. Loads of coriander, citrus, a bit tart, green apple, very yeasty, fruity, maybe just a touch too sweet and chewy, but the spices are quite nice. Body is medium/full, huge for a wit, full chunky carbonation, lightly syrupy. Close but just a touch rough... needs more delicacy.

Bottle. Pours a yellow gold color with a large white head. Aroma is light fruity and yeasty. Taste similar, great fruit notes and dry palate. a very light yeasty tasting beer, a think its a nice rep of the witbier. Tasty, complex and very enjoyable. Surprised by this one.

Pours a cloudy bronze color with a small fizzy head. Nose is rich and consists of baking bread and citrus aromas. Orange, coriander, pear, and a medley of subtle herbs and spices in the taste. Tingly carbonated mouth feel. Citrus and spice finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy pale gold with half inch foamy head. Aroma is pear, orange, coriander, vinous esters, slightly caramel and toffee, with a herbal spicy finish. Flavor is slightly caramel, pear-orange, spice, honey, a palate cleansing herbalness, vinous, and has very slight indirect hints of chocolate. Palate is lightly carbonated with a crisp finish.
