I first had this in Austin a few years ago and at the time it was the first Witbier that I had ever had. This seemed to be sold everywhere in the Austin area, so I was in heaven when visiting there. The look is so very true to style as this may be the whitest of the wits in appearance. It’s a very pale gold color. The citrus flavorings are outstandingly tart. Yet this ale is amazingly drinkable. Not quite as tasty to me now that I have had John’s Generations, but I do like it better than the overtly tart Hoegaarden. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2004 The beer after dislodging it self from the 12 ounce brown bottle sets in the glass a crystal clear gold color, the head smallish and bright white, the texture semi-creamy with the lace a thin velum like sheet. Nose is citrus crisp, sweetly malt with a trace of wheat, start is quite sweet, nice grain profile, and the top is light in its feels to the palate. Finish is prickly in its acidity, the hops apropos to the style. I suppose it is a good representative to the original, but it’s hard to beat a brewing icon like Peter Celis, well at least in my humble opinion. DrGonzo (625), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA

Plenty of orange in the aroma, spice, coriander, decent. Medium body, somehwat heavy on the carbonation, spicy, acidic, lemon, oily, tasty malts, pleasant lingering wheat finish. A ery drinkable and tasty white. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2004 Pale straw colored. Pungent orange peel aroma, some acid and plenty of coriander. Some phenols. Surprisingly full-bodied. Quite smooth malt character. Dryish long finish. This is very good. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Lemon juice, grapefruits, and a dank, musty finish. Dry and abrasive. Too carbonated. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA

A dull opaque yellow with a carbonated white head. I found it light on the stomach too, real easy drinking. Aroma was a mix of spices, malts and lemon. Very little hops in taste, but a great balance between a great bread like taste and lemon. steve23mj (273), Essexville, Michigan, USA

Flavor of orange and coriander and some piney notes. Refreshing beer. Worthy example of American made Belgian Wit VTHopHead (924), Barre, Vermont, USA

Good clove/banana aroma with hints of other spices. Belgian yeast apparent in both the smell and flavor. Slightly sour with a slight hop flavor finish mixed in with the strong wheatiness, but no hop bitterness. Not a bad example of the style. A fairly good effort
