Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with a medium/small head. Aromas are funk, lemon, spice and bananas. Flavor is kind of a goofy mix of the above. The funky lemon goes fairly well with the cloves and light wheat flavor.

Pretty good white. Nice pale color. Light and sour lemon taste. Very refreshing on a hot day.

(12oz bottle from Beer of the Month Club at home on September 5, 2008) Cloudy yellow with a frothy white head. Lightly carbonated. Lemon/yeast aroma. Lovely taste. A lot like a German hefeweizen. Great, clean, no sour aftertaste. I really enjoy this. A sure bet!

Better than I thought it would be. I thought it would be super sweet like a Blue Moon, but this was really more spicey than citrus-y. Not bad. It pours a light hazy yellow with pretty minimal Sprite-like head. Aroma is clovey. Flavor is some clove/coriander with a bit of malt backing. Mouthfeel is pretty substantial for this style, yet the beer is pretty drinkable. Really, not bad. I got this beer as part of the Microbrew of the Month club.

Pours out a hazy dark lemon juice color with a small to moderate white head. Aroma is of citrus ans some spice notes. Taste is refreshing, yet still somewhat complex, has some nice notes of citrus, spice and some lemon zest in there too. This isn’t always my favorite style, but this one is pretty good.

Bottle. Hazy, grapefruit lemon color with 1/2" head. Lemon, wheaty, grainy, cloves. Listless initial delivery, thin body, but steadily comes on strong with spicy, wheaty finish. Ok

BOTMC Selection August 2008: Poured from the bottle into a double-walled pint glass. Pour produced a cloudy golden body topped by a medium head of white foam, which dissipated fairly quickly. Strong aromas of lemon, cloves, and wheat. Tart and light-bodied, this White goes down easily, with good, crisp carbonation, mild aftertaste, and a generally clean palate throughout. This is a fine beer for hot Summer months and will keep this in mind for the next Summer.

Bought a six pack, and this beer just gets better the more you drink. Light citrus refreshing scent. The palate is really smooth and creamy. You can really taste the corriander and spice. This is an amazing Belgian wheat.
