Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a legendary style is not for the timid. Strong, assertively hoppy and dangerously seductive. A skillful blend of three premium barley malts with generous amounts of Northern Brewer and Cascade Hops creates a special ale to satisfy even the most demanding palate.

Bottle: Very hazy with floating sediment, copper color otherwise. Sticky light head with nice lacing. The nose is full of bread and hops. Nice plum and citrus notes that blend seamlessly with the malts. It takes a certain type of talent to pull certain sugars out of the malt while simultaneously using the right hop at the right time to get this simple 1-2 of hop and malt in a timeless IPA. Sweet and seductive, a smooth body, light bitterness and a hopcentric tail. To say this is par would be disparaging 95% of all other IPA makers, but I feel this should be the baseline for the style. Make it awesome, then improve upon it.

Lots of head with a strong hop smell. Slightly bitter with some lace. Has an alcohol finish.

Found this one at the Lundeen’s in Sycamore, Illinois. Cloudy, reddish-orange pour with a thick white head, dissipating to a nice lacing. Nice and piney nose, with hints of dried fruits and grapefruit peel. Very bitter, but nuanced with a nice spiceyness that is unusual in many recent hop bombs. Clean, strong finish. I recommend this beer.

My very first IPA....not what I would necessarily recommend for the first-time IPA drinker. Lots of hops...very piney....typical of a good-quality IPA. Lemon citrus on the palate...with a long hop finish. Definitly a heavy-weight in the IPA category.

Hoppyiness at an arm’s length with a fruity nose right behind. Light brown-orange in color with a nice off white head. Good carbonation. Full hoppyiness on the taste buds followed by a dry ending. Ow, I like that. This profile keeps improving right to the bottom of the glass. Dryer and dryer.

12oz bottle. Pleasant aroma of dried apricot, very light pine resin and grapefruit. Pours a hazy orange/copper with a thin white head. Flavor is quite dry. Where’s the sweet apricot and pine that was on the nose? Just a hint of grapefruit hoppiness. A decent amount of toffee malt. Some grassy hops and alcohol as well. Average IPA.

Pours a nice golden color with a slight head. Smell is faint hops. This smells and tastes like a stunted IPA. It wants to be a big IPA, it just doesn’t have the room. Plenty of malty backbone, but that dominates the hops that are there. I drank this side by side with a couple other IPA’s and it wasn’t in the same league. I will try their other beers though.

12 oz bottle. Pours a rediculously hazy and murky deep copper with floaty globules- thin fimly head and spotty lace. Aroma is citrus orange peel, hoppy and resinous with a light crackery caramel malts. Some pine sol flavor, orange peel, and pine with a light bitterness- a bit earhty and yeasty dirtiness. Ok finish.
