Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a legendary style is not for the timid. Strong, assertively hoppy and dangerously seductive. A skillful blend of three premium barley malts with generous amounts of Northern Brewer and Cascade Hops creates a special ale to satisfy even the most demanding palate.

Reminds me more of an american strong ale, or even a barleywine - nice herbal aroma, with abundant cherry, strawberry, a touch of caramel - copious spicy hops countered by an aggressive malt profile - orange, grapefruit, strawberry - caramel sweetness, bread, oats - very full and rich, leading me to my comparisons above.

Poured a very hazy orange amber color with a small off-white head. Yeasty floaties abound. Citrusy aroma, fruity with caramel malt sweetness. The flavor has a sweet malty start that quickly turns to citrusy hops that fill the mouth. Mild bitterness with the hops lasting through the finish. Finish had notes of orange skin oils.

A very good example of this brewing style. Pours orange citrusy aroma and grapefruity hops taste. Excellent out of the tap at brewpub.

12 Oz. Bottle Pour of molten amber lava with fringes of sunrise, rimmed with a cream froth of ivory. Aroma is a spicy, yet cherry syrup-esque waft of candied orange peel, light resins and ginger. Flavor is a decent, yet slightly weak, sweet ruby red grapefruit, with limes peels and a good dose of warm bready spiced yeasts and a finish of toothy grass. Alcohol shows, but carries hop juices nicely. A quite standard IPA, with good construction, great flavor and nice drinkability. Maybe a little too much bitter resins in the finish. Palate bites a little with a touch of hop sugars. Light diacetyls over caramel apple smack.

Nose is faint and yet spicey with hops. Pours a deep amber with generous lasting head. Flavor is mild and well balanced. Nothing great, but one hell of a session beer.

BOttle from the brewpub- Deep hazy orange pour topped with a finger of beige froth. Lots of belgian style lacing. Huge hops aroma matched up with very upfront breadyness and malty caramel. A "well balanced aroma" FLavours also hold their own. Very hoppy and upfront, with a great balance of sweet bready molasses. Very american in the bittering hops. Smooth and had a drinkablilty that few possess. This is an IPA. Could pass as a double. Very good example of the style due to its balance.

pours a deep hazy amber color with a decent sized off white head. aroma of citrusy fruit, pine hpos, sweet malts, and caramel. The flavor is spicey, citrusy, sweet, with some bitterness that seems to settle on the bottom of your toungue as sweetness and citrus pours over the top of it, good body, good brew.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of Weeare138 (thanks!). Poured a medium to deeper amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of oranges, caramel, and grapefruit. Tastes of oranges, citrus, caramel and a little biscuity. Alcohol content hidden. I found this one to be nicely balanced and not your overboard, one dimensional hop bomb. Nice.
