(12oz bottle, thanks ryan) Small beige head atop hazy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange, some pineapple, light perfume. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some spice, alcohol. Medium-full body, some stickiness.

Draft sample at new brewpub under the name of Imperial IPA. Poured dark copper color with moderate frothy white head that mostly lasted and had good lacing. Heavy sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Heavy hoppy bitter flavor with a heavy bitter finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

MiBGF 07, identified just as Imperial IPA: Clean coppery hue with some foam on top. The nose is greeted with piney and resiny hop vapours, grapefruit, dusty, earthy and pepper esters. Some strange minty notes about as well. The taste is very balanced crisp hop bitterness, caramel and bready malts and a subdued citric presence. The finish is a little spicy. The mouth feel is lush and warming with a slight bite. This got better as it warmed a turned into a really nice beer.

Poured a slightly hazed orange-copper color with a medium sized off-white head. Citrus and catty aroma with caramel and candy like malt. The flavor had a citrus start with citrus rind flavor and bitterness at the end. Mild bitterness and medium bodied. Some warmth in the chest.

Draught. At Cole’s in Buffalo. As "Michigan Hopswitch Double IPA." Slightly hazy amber with a solid fizzy-foamy off-white head. Solid pungent pine/spruce/resin hop aroma, decent malt backing. The taste is both very sweet (orange/pineapple juice) malt and very malty - grapefruit and resin - finishes very bitter indeed and the alcohol asserts itself near the bottom of the pint. Decent I2PA body, excellent astringency, an oddly quick finish; very drinkable.

Draught at Cole’s in Buffalo, NY. Pours a clear golden-orange with a small diminishing white head. Very nice resiny hop aroma with sweet malt backing it up. Big hoppy flavour with lots of sweet malt and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. If this beer is really 10.4% then it hides it damn well. Very good, I found this very easy to drink.

On tap: Aroma has lots of pine, grapefruit, citrus, and light pineapple. Transparent golden orange with a small white head with some yellow tint. Very good lacing. Flavor starts with a hint of pineapple with a solid fruity backbone. Finish is loaded with lots of piney and grapefruit hops. Very well balanced. Moderately syrupy mouthfeel. I wish these guys would bottle this along with their Imperial Stout.

12oz bottle, courtesy of ryan. Thanks! Pours a hazy, orange color; off-white head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of earthy, biscuity bitterness in the aroma; lightly astringent. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lively carbonation; lots of earthy, mineral bitterness upfront; candy sugar, sweet maltiness, and a good malty balance overall; solid, lightly rough-edged IIPA. Lengthy finish: earthy bitterness, candy sugar, and lasting hoppiness.
