| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Bottle (12oz). Clear, very deep ruby pour, average foamy/fizzy off-white head. Slightly burnt caramel aroma, dry, nutty, a hint of cola. The taste is quite sweet, root beer syrup, slightly floral, dry and spicy - seems a little "forced" somehow, and thin. Weak, still body, quick finish to the malt, a slightly sugary and toffeeish aftertaste. Ehhhhh - kind of thin and syrupy. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2009 bottle - Pours amber-brown with a thin tan head. It has a nice caramel malt aroma. The flavor is the expected sweet caramel nut malt with minimal hops. It’s light bodied and could use more to it, but let it warm up for awhile and it holds up decently. jstraw (769), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown. Big light tan head. Ok lacing. Mild chocolate flavor. Tastes of chocolate and carmal. Smooth feel. I’m not a big brown fan, but this beer was tasty and very drinkable. I am surprised that it isn’t rated a bit higher. Only negative was that it was a lttle thin. Medium head, which dissipated after a few moments. Beautiful brown color (especially when held up to the sun light.) This was like drinking a nutty, slice of wheat bread. Very nice flavor and not too overpowering with a nice finish. WakeandBake (431), Greenville, Michigan, USA

This is a complete rerate , I did not give this beer a fair shake the first time around . A clear medium brown color pour with a big lasting soapy white head , nice jagged lacing left , medium carbonation . Aroma is nutty with a bit of ground grain, toasty, with a bit of toffee .Flavor of roasted pecans , dry malt ,bread crust, caramel and some toffee , maybe a hint of spicy hops ,very balanced and not overly sweet . Fresh clean mouthfeel ,light to medium body , with a nice roasty finish . This was a very good beer and I had rated it WAY too low last time , maybe it has gotten better since then . Nice job MBC
