Clear caramel-colored ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. The malty nose is nutty and buttery with lots of caramel. The flavor shows some oxidation. Walks on the bitter side of balance. Thin, not malty enough for the style. Mild chocolate. Light-bodied and fizzy. Crisp, gently bitter finish. Cornfield (4964), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

Has a nice aroma of hot toast, caramel, nuts, and a touch of butterscotch. Light and fluffy in the mouth. Tastes of caramel, light roasted malts, and a nutty, earthy bitterness. Not bad.

Very dark brown color with a two or three finger fluffy head. Flavor starts very chocolate. Moves on to a bit of malt. Whole wheat bready sort of drink. Finish is pretty well balanced. Not getting particular hop, but it is not really sweet. Sort of a nutty light porter kind of thing. Really good, whatever it is. Skyview (4063), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Warehouse Liquors in Duluth, Minnesota. Pours a clear dark copper amber brew with a thin and fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a bubbly film top and white ring. Aroma of toasted caramel malt with some roasted nuts, touch of chocolate and some biscuit dough. Taste is medium bodied, well-carbonated with a toasted multi-grain malt with some roasted nuts and dried figs. Finish is slightly dry, metallic with a citrus and malt aftertaste. A solid beer but nothing special. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Bottle (12oz). Clear, very deep ruby pour, average foamy/fizzy off-white head. Slightly burnt caramel aroma, dry, nutty, a hint of cola. The taste is quite sweet, root beer syrup, slightly floral, dry and spicy - seems a little "forced" somehow, and thin. Weak, still body, quick finish to the malt, a slightly sugary and toffeeish aftertaste. Ehhhhh - kind of thin and syrupy. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
