Inveigler (371), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Jan 24, 2003 I have to a gree with daboskasbouter that this was too hoppy for the style. Burnt peach to orange in color with a thin fizzy head. Hops and malt blended pretty well in the aroma. But, man, did the hops come out in the flavor. It was suprising. Not the MBC's best effort. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada Jan 13, 2003 Slightly hazy dark orange appearance. Light chocolate and citrusy hops in the nose. Body is spritzy with a firm sweet malt presence. Finishes lightly tart and too hoppy for the style. Not much of an old ale if you ask me. hennes (932), Fountain, Michigan, USA May 29, 2002 Yet another MBC brew with nice aroma and weak body - that seems to be a distinguishing feature of the brewery. Some citrus, nuts, and cinamon to lend a little complexity but this is more a dressed up American style pale than an old ale, leaning hard with hops.
