| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 5, 2006 Bottle from Friar Tucks in Champaign. Pours deep brown/ black with a diminishing tan head. Faint aroma of chocolate, dark roast, and very faint licorice. Flavor of mild roast coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Very close to brown porter territory in texture. Finish is watery, and has a mild bitterness and earthy burnt graininess that lingers. Not worth revisiting for my tastes. DrewTaylor (154), Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Pourd dark brown with a red tinge. Large head. Didnt look too thick for a porter and the taste matched. Very nice ’light’ porter with hints of toasted chocolate and coffee. Smooth drinking. A nice beer. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 22, 2006 From a 12 oz. bottle with no freshness date.
Poured a ruby hued dark brown with a nice looking rocky, creamy head, fair amount of ringed laced sticking.
Aromas of fruity esters and roasted chocolate malts with a hint of coffee.
Good even carbonation and a crisp, velvety smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Tastes of roasted chocolate and coffee malts, a light, tartly sweet dark fruitiness, a touch of roasted barley grains towards the end and a chocolate malty finish with a lingering fruitiness.
Easy, smooth drinking porter at an affordable price, well worth trying.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 20, 2006 This poured a deep mahogany body with a two-fingered, creamy tan head. Nice aroma, dark caramel with a splash of chocolate, some roasted barley, and a sip of coffee. The flavor’s a subdued sweet malt with a hit of smoke and a burnt woodiness that gets a bit harsh near the finish. That harshness means I probably won’t be revisiting this brew any time soon.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a lightly-lacing thin tan head. Aroma has some pleasant sweet earthy caramel and roasty smoke notes with a touch of dark chocolate. Body starts with some bittersweet earthy malt, revealing some metallic cherry flavors that are really out of place. The finish is smokier with some lingering burnt roasted maltiness. Not really sure what is going on with this one, but I don’t think I like it.
