Commercial Description:
A wonderfully complex, deep ruby red-black Ale. Dark chocolate, coffee-like flavors are complimented by plenty of hop character with a hint of smokiness in the aftertaste. Robust, yet very drinkable.

Standard porter fare. Pours dark garnet red-brown, with a medium creamy off-white head. Cereal, toast, and roasted malt aroma. Nice chocolatey roasted malt flavor. Medium body. Tasty but not pushing any boundaries.

garnet brown with a small tan head, cholate malt aroma.taste is of chocolate and caramel malt, but is lacking in the roastiness, typical of porters, quite thin for the style as well. Very average

Rather thin, but chocolatey throughout. Body needs something extra, maybe more bitterness, too, as the choclate taste just lingers on...

Draft, at MBC taproom. Whew! Last beer of a very large sampler tray (but I still their bottled beers to try)! Even though I'm sated with a dozen different beers, this one still pops through. A dark ruby glass, then a roasted but not burnt mocha coffee taste. Even get a bit of toffee to it.

MIBG Fest: Dark ruby-brown colour with small head. Nice chocolate notes in the aroma, and a mild roasty flavour with a well-balanced hop finish. A decent but thinnish porter.

Dark brown appearance. Light fruit and a touch of roast in the nose. Body is smooth with a touch of fruit, maybe some cherry. Light coffee notes and a little sweetness. Finishes a little thin but comes across fresh.

Dark black brown color, medium head.Aroma is chocolate malt and hoppy. A medium bodied porter. Deeply roasted malts, chocolaty and somewhat sweet. Some hop spiciness? Nice balance. Good flavor, complex and clean taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly malty. A nice lighter bodied porter.
