CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Jan 7, 2008 16 oz swing top bottle with small paper label. Pleasant soft bourbon aroma, with toast fringes, salted caramel and minerals over fruitcake. Black, deep with tinted tan lacing the glass and staying strong. Flavor is very well melded, a good joining of bourbon and porter, edging sticky. Heavy on the fruit, which is nice. There’s a broad edge of caramelization and light roast that balances the nuttiness. Well sustained English leafy hop brightens the back end. Fresh and lively with carbonation. There’s some slight shallow filtered cleaniness, but it has a good profile. Backs out on hickory bark and brown sugar. Thanks much Sean!
