Sweet and inviting lightly-toasted caramel in the nose along with some pine hoppage. Sweet caramel again in the flavor with pine and floral accents.. short, tacky finish with decent balance. Almost medium-bodied with a sweet base and moderate bitterness around. Quite nice. kwoeltje (1326), Manchester, Missouri, USA

Some malt in the aroma. Flavor was some malt and hops. Decent, but nothing special. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Barely discernable hoppy aroma. Dry palate with starts with intense tongue scubbing hop bitterness that finishes with dry lingering bitterness. Not my cup of tea but hop heads take note. Stands up nicely against atomic buffalo wings and pizza with lots of garlic. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2005 The color of this beer was masked by the plastic cup this was served in at a fest, but I detected an amber/orange under a lasting, creamy film. Grapefruit/citrus hopped nose with a good malt/hop balance in flavor. Creamy mouth and a dry finish.

I’m one of them who gets very little of an aroma from my beer, just some sweet maltiness. Amber in color with a rocky off-white head, it’s a medium-bodied drink. The flavor is a that of a chewy caramel malt. There’s just a bit of earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Not very interesting, but from reading the other reviews, I see that might change tomorrow.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 2, 2005 Contrary to other ratings I found this had a very nice aroma, alot of citrus. No bitterness so this is not hopped enough for any type of pale ale. Enough of a malt sweetness to balance this out nicely. i enjoyed it alot. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Another beer of Mickey Finn’s that has no aroma. Looks amber like their other lighter ales. Slight bite - possibly Goldings or Kent - but then the taste mellows out into a rye bread aftertaste. Very similar to their pale ales, and comes up short. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Nice underlying bitterness to this lightly caramel, smoky/woody medium-bodied amber specimen. It’s fine...just not much to say.
